Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2025  |  Effective: March 1, 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how Matilda Migration, Inc. ("Matilda Migration," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at matlidamlgration.com (the "Site"). This policy describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.

By continuing to use our Site after this policy is presented to you, you consent to our use of cookies as described below — with the exception of strictly necessary cookies, which are deployed regardless of consent because they are required for the Site to function. You can manage or withdraw your consent at any time using the methods described in Section 5 of this policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your computer, smartphone, or other device when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners about how visitors use their site.

Cookies are set by either the website you are visiting (known as "first-party cookies") or by third-party services that the website uses — such as analytics providers, advertising networks, or embedded content providers (known as "third-party cookies").

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies: These are temporary cookies that expire and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. They are used to maintain continuity during a single browsing session — for example, keeping you logged in as you navigate between pages.
  • Persistent cookies: These cookies remain on your device for a specified period (which varies by cookie) or until you delete them manually. They allow a website to remember your preferences and recognize you on future visits.

In addition to cookies, we may use similar tracking technologies such as:

  • Web beacons (pixel tags): Tiny invisible images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to track whether a page was accessed or an email was opened
  • Local storage: Browser-based storage (including localStorage and sessionStorage) used to store small amounts of data locally on your device, similar to cookies but with different technical characteristics
  • Scripts and tracking pixels: Embedded code from third-party services that collect information about your interactions with our Site

Throughout this policy, we use "cookies" as a general term to refer to all of these technologies collectively unless we specifically distinguish between them.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Site to function and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. They include:

  • Cookie consent preference cookie: Stores your cookie consent choices (accepted/declined) so we do not repeatedly display the consent banner on every page visit. We use localStorage rather than a traditional cookie for this purpose. Key: cookieConsent. Duration: until cleared by user.
  • Session management: Temporary cookies used to maintain session continuity if you are accessing restricted content or filling out multi-step forms.
  • Security cookies: Cookies used to detect and prevent CSRF (cross-site request forgery) attacks and other security threats when you interact with forms on our Site.

Because strictly necessary cookies are essential to Site operation, they are set automatically when you visit our Site and do not require your consent. They cannot be disabled through our cookie preference controls, though you can delete them through your browser settings (which may break certain Site functionality).

2.2 Analytics Cookies

We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with our Site. This information helps us improve our website content, navigation, and user experience. Analytics cookies collect information such as which pages you visit, how long you spend on each page, which links you click, and general geographic information (at the city/region level) derived from your IP address.

We currently use the following analytics services:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043. GA4 uses first-party cookies and browser signals to measure site usage. We have configured GA4 with IP anonymization enabled. Data is stored on Google's servers. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. Cookies set: _ga (2 years), _ga_XXXXXXXX (2 years), _gid (24 hours).

Analytics cookies are deployed only with your consent. If you decline analytics cookies, we will not set these cookies and your visit will not be tracked in our analytics platform. Note that disabling analytics cookies will not affect the functionality of our Site.

2.3 Functional Cookies

Functional cookies allow the Site to remember your preferences and provide enhanced, personalized features. These cookies enable functionality such as:

  • Remembering your preferred language or display settings if multiple options are available
  • Maintaining your preferences for content display across sessions
  • Enabling interactive features such as contact form pre-population based on previous submissions

Currently, our use of functional cookies beyond strictly necessary cookies is minimal. We will update this section if we introduce additional functional cookie usage. Functional cookies are deployed only with your consent.

2.4 Marketing and Tracking Cookies

Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites to enable the display of relevant advertisements and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. We want to be transparent about our current and potential use of marketing cookies:

  • LinkedIn Insight Tag: If enabled, the LinkedIn Insight Tag allows us to track conversions from LinkedIn advertising campaigns, retarget visitors on LinkedIn, and understand the professional characteristics of Site visitors. The Insight Tag is provided by LinkedIn Corporation. LinkedIn's privacy policy is available at linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Google Ads Conversion Tracking: If enabled, this tracks conversions from Google advertising campaigns. Provided by Google LLC.

Marketing cookies are deployed only with your explicit consent. We do not use marketing cookies for interest-based advertising to consumers; our marketing activities are directed at enterprise business decision-makers in relevant industries. We do not share personal information collected through marketing cookies with advertising networks for the purpose of serving personalized advertisements to individuals on other websites.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our Site are set by third-party services rather than directly by Matilda Migration. We have limited control over these third-party cookies; they are governed by the privacy policies of the respective third parties. The third parties whose cookies or tracking technologies may be present on our Site include:

  • Google LLC — Analytics and optional advertising services. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • LinkedIn Corporation — Optional conversion tracking. Privacy policy: linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — Content delivery network and security services. Some cookies may be set for security and performance purposes. Privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

Third-party service providers may update their cookie practices independently of our policy. We encourage you to review their privacy policies directly for the most current information about their data practices.

4. Cookies and Children

Our Site is directed at enterprise business users and is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly use cookies to collect information from children. If you believe a minor has accessed our Site and cookies have been placed on their device, please contact us at privacy@matlidamlgration.com and we will take appropriate steps.

5. How to Control Cookies

5.1 Our Cookie Consent Tool

When you first visit our Site, you will see a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept all cookies or manage your preferences. Your choice is stored in localStorage under the key cookieConsent and persists across sessions on the same browser and device until you clear it.

To change your cookie preferences after your initial choice:

  • Clear your browser's localStorage and cookies, which will reset your consent preference and cause the banner to appear again on your next visit
  • Contact us at privacy@matlidamlgration.com to request that we update your preference record

5.2 Browser Cookie Controls

All modern browsers provide controls for managing cookies. You can configure your browser to refuse all cookies, alert you when cookies are being set, or delete existing cookies. The specific instructions vary by browser:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and website data
  • Mobile browsers: Consult your browser's help documentation for cookie management instructions

Please note that disabling cookies in your browser may affect the functionality of this and other websites you visit. In particular, disabling all cookies will prevent our cookie consent preference from being saved, which means the consent banner will appear on every visit.

5.3 Analytics Opt-Out

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites you visit (not just ours), you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5.4 Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal that can be sent to websites you visit. There is currently no universally accepted standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Our Site does not currently respond to DNT signals differently from standard browser visits; we rely on our cookie consent mechanism to honor your preferences rather than on browser-level DNT signals.

6. Cookie Retention Periods

The retention period for cookies varies by type and purpose:

  • Strictly necessary session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser
  • Cookie consent preference (localStorage): Persists until you clear browser data
  • Google Analytics (_ga): 2 years from last activity
  • Google Analytics (_gid): 24 hours
  • Marketing tracking pixels: Session to 90 days depending on the specific service

You can delete any or all cookies at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and cache. This will also reset your cookie consent preference, and the consent banner will appear on your next visit.

7. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our use of cookies, changes in applicable laws, or updates to third-party services we use. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, display a notice on the Site. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
